— How to read the manual?

The manual is meant to give you, as a trainer, more background information on  

• the why of the courses + how it was developed 

• the actual content (what) of the courses 

• and how they are meant to be thought.  

It is imperative that the way the courses are given, will contribute to its goal. The importance of the section about the principles and expected attitude cannot be stressed enough – they are your common thread as you will see in the way the courses were elaborated. 

When it comes to actual tasks, games, icebreakers, there is not just one possible example that will make sure you will achieve the aims /(sub-)goals as stated in this manual. If you are experienced in training and giving group classes, please feel free to use your experience, creativity and ideas in using different games, find your own material, video’s . As long as you stay faithful to the goals as we set them, differentiating can be an asset, especially when you give the courses on a regular basis in the future.  

So, use the manual for your own benefit - as a guideline, use the information in it while making sure you keep the goals and the desired principles and approach.   

After the section about the principles and approach, we have 5 chapters, meaning 1 chapter for each workshop. 

They all follow the same logic: 

1. First a general introduction to the content of that workshop 

2. A session plan: gives on a one pager all information about the workshop 

3. A lesson plan: this is a roadmap with detailed information and referral to all materials needed, for each part of the session plan.
